The Lake Foods team congratulates Claire in receiving her Masters in Agricultural Management from Stellenbosch University.

Her thesis was titled: Consumer acceptance of Cheddar cheese: intrinsic, extrinsic and socio-demographic influences.

The study encompassed the sensory analysis of Cheddar cheese by a trained panel; instrumental analysis of cheese; two focus groups and 115 consumers who rated the cheese on a 9-point hedonic scale for liking.  These consumers also answered a questionnaire regarding their cheese preferences and consumption habits.  Multivariate analysis was conducted on all the data to determine whether specific cheese sensory profiles would satisfy specific consumer segments.
